WBPSC IDO Recruitment 2025: Notification
The West Bengal Public Service Commission on its official website has announced recruitment for the posts of Industrial Development Officers which will be conducted under Advertisement No. 15/2024. The short notification came out on the 24th of December 2024 and the detailed notification with all the details regarding the important dates like the last date of application will be released soon. The application for the recruitment will have to be submitted online and the exam will be conducted in written format.

WBPSC IDO Recruitment 2025: Online Form Release
The application for the recruitment that will be conducted soon by the West Bengal Public Service Commission on the posts of Industrial Development Officers will have to be submitted online by the candidates who wish to apply. The official date for the release date of the application form or the last date of submission has not been announced yet. However, the dates will be announced soon through another new notification that will be published on the official website of the commission. Candidates who wish to apply must ensure that they fill out the form that will be released with their accurate details. If the details are found incorrect, the application form of the candidate will be rejected.Â
WBPSC IDO Recruitment 2025 Application Fee
Candidates interested in applying for the recruitment when submitting the application form will also have to pay a small amount of application fee. This fee will have to be submitted through online payment modes only and the candidates who fail to submit it by the last day of filling out the application form will not be allowed to participate in the selection process. The application fee that has to be submitted amounts to INR 160/- for unreserved and OBC categories. This amount will be exempted for those who belong to the SC/ST/PwD categories.
WBPSC IDO Education Qualifications 2025
Candidates who are interested in applying for the recruitment that will be conducted by the West Bengal Public Service Commission over the posts of Industrial Development Officers must possess the following educational qualifications in order to be eligible for the recruitment.
- Candidates applying must possess a degree of Graduation from a recognised university or the candidates must have a diploma in technology or engineering from a university or institution recognised by the government.
- Candidates applying must also be able to read as well as write in Bengali language.Â
WBPSC IDO Age LimitationsÂ
The lower age limit for the candidates intending to apply for the recruitment conducted by the West Bengal Public Service Commission will be 21 years while the upper age limit will be 39 years which can be extended up to 42 years for candidates who belong to the OBC category and upto 44 for those who belong to the SC/ST categories.

WBPSC IDO Recruitment 2025: Selection Process
The selection process for the recruitment of posts that are announced vacant for Industrial Development Officers by the West Bengal Public Service Commission will be conducted in two phases. The first phase of the selection process will be a written examination that will be conducted through the multiple choice questioning format. The first half of the selection process will be testing the knowledge of the candidates regarding the field and identifying the potential candidates for recruitment. The candidates who manage to pass the first phase of the selection process will then be called for interviews which is the second phase of the selection process. The candidates who pass both phases will be recruited.
WBPSC IDO Recruitment 2025: Exam Pattern
The written examination for the recruitment process will be conducted in the multiple-choice format and the question paper will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions carrying one mark each. The duration of the exam will be 90 minutes and there will be no provision for negative marking in the examination. Out of the 100 questions present in the paper 75 will be from General Studies in which the knowledge of the candidates on topics like Science, Industrial Scene, Industrial Potential in West Bengal & India, and Humanities will be tested, while the remaining 25 questions will test the knowledge of the candidates Arithmetic and Mental Ability.
WBPSC ID 2025: Passing Marks For Written ExaminationÂ
In order to qualify for the second phase of the selection process the candidates appearing for the recruitment will have to score a minimum percentage of scores. This minimum percentage will be 40% if the candidates belong to the unreserved category, 35% if the candidates belong to the OBC category, and 30% if the candidates belong to the SC/ST category.

The candidates intending to apply for the recruitment that will be conducted on the posts of Industrial Development Officers by the West Bengal Public Service Commission can expect a basic pay of approximately INR 32,100/- along with a DA amounting to INR 3,852/-, HRA amounting to INR 3,852/-, and gross salary amounting to INR 37,415/-.
