TS SET 2024 Exam, Admit card Out, Result (Soon), Cutoff: The Telangana Government recently held the State Eligibility Test. TSET is a crucial exam for candidates who want to apply for College or University level teaching posts. Osmania University conducts this exam in Telangana. The National Council for Teacher Education has made the Teacher Eligibility Test compulsory for all teaching jobs nationwide. Osmania University released the TSET notification on May 4, 2024; the last date for application without a late fee was July 2, 2024. After that, with a late fee increasing from Rs.1500 – Rs. 3000, as per the delay in application, applicants could apply till July 26, 2024. The exam took place on September 10 – 13, 2024. The Hall Ticket was released on the website a week before the exam, i.e., September 2, 2024. This is the approximate timeline for this exam; aspirants for next year’s exam should be aware of it.

Telangana State Eligibility Test: Examination Fee

The examination fee for the TSET is as follows;

General Candidates:   Rs. 2000.

Backward Classes/ Economically Weaker Section: Rs 1500.

SC/ST/VH/HI/OH/Transgender:  Rs 1000.

The TSET allows candidates to apply with a late fee ranging from Rs. 1500 – 3000, upto a specific date mentioned. The candidate has to pay this late fee along with the registration fee mentioned earlier.

Academic Eligibility for Telangana State Eligibility Test

The academic qualifications required for applying for this exam are;

Post Graduation Degree

The candidate should have a post-graduate degree like

  • General Candidates need to have a score of 55%  in their Master’s. 
  • Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Transgender/PwBD/ Ph.D qualified candidates who completed their Master’s before September 1991 need to have a score of 50% in their Master’s to apply for this exam.

Candidates can appear in Paper II only in the subject of their Master’s Degree.

Age Eligibility for Telangana State Eligibility Test

There is no upper age restriction for appearing for this exam. The academic qualification is the only eligibility for TSET.

Steps to apply for Telangana State Eligibility Test

The application process for this exam is as follows,

Telangana SET 2024 Exam Pattern

The exam has two papers. The first paper is the General Test. All candidates have the same kind of paper. The second paper is the candidate’s subject paper, the subject they have studied at the Master’s level.

Both papers occur on the same day and in the same session. The candidates will get a total time of three hours to attempt both papers.

The general test has 50 questions. Each correct answer is worth two marks. Paper I is for 100 marks.

Paper II is the subject test. This paper will have 100 questions. Paper II is for 200 marks. Both the papers will be of the objective kind.

Telangana State Eligibility Test 2024: Answer Key

The Answer Key for the exam is awaited. It may be released soon. Once the model answers are available, students should check their answers. They can raise the issue with the Examining Authority if they object to the model answers. The dates for this will be given along with the answer key.

Selection Procedure: Telangana State Eligibility Test

General candidates have to score atleast 40% in both papers, and other reserved category students should score atleast 35% in both papers to be considered in the qualifying pool. Then, the examining authority follows the rules to determine the list of qualified candidates.
