The Karnataka Government is offering a number of scholarship schemes to students from socially and economically challenging backgrounds. Seven Departments of Karnataka State provide various kinds of scholarships to students. The scholarships are open for registration every year, and students should register themselves for these schemes if they are not already enrolled. Scholarships are essential support to students who may find it difficult to continue their education otherwise. The scholarships are for students studying in schools, colleges, and universities, i.e., from primary to higher education. This article gives an overview of the different scholarship schemes available to students in Karnataka, the SSP application process, eligibility, documentation, etc.
SSP Scholarship 2024
Scholarships help students to complete and focus on their education even when they face socio-economic challenges. Students belonging to sections of society that are traditionally marginalized need more support to complete even primary schooling at times. For such students in Karnataka, the SSP scheme is a boon. It offers scholarships to students from school to college level. Seven departments of the Karnataka government are involved in the SSP Scheme. An overview of the SSP Scheme is tabled below.

SSP Karnataka Schemes List
The Karnataka Government offers many different types of scholarships to students from class 1 upto degree level. Various departments of the state government manage all these scholarships. The details of the departments and the schemes are tabled below for better clarity.
SSP Pre-Matric Scholarships
Many departments of the Karnataka government grant the scholarships. Each of them focuses on a specific category of students that is under their administrative purview.

SSP Post-Matric Scholarships
Various Karnataka government departments offer post-matric scholarships. These include;

The State Hostel Portal(SHP) offers hostel facilities for pre-matric and post-matric students under various departments. Currently, the Tribal Welfare Department is inviting applications from tribal students to apply for hostels. Pre-matric and post-matric tribal students can apply for hostels till September 30, 2024.

How to apply for SSP Scholarship 2024
All students, pre-matric and post-matric, have first to apply for SSP using the following steps;
- Go to the official portal https://ssp.postmatric.karnataka.gov.in/CA/
- Create an account using details of the student’s Aadhar.
- Enter Captcha and permit the use of Aadhar details for the process.
- Click Submit.
- Proceed further by confirming SATS ID( Student Achievement Tracking System)
- Enter your mobile number.
- Complete the registration using the OTP sent.
Eligibility for SSP Scholarship Karnataka 2024
- Applicants should be a Karnataka resident.
- The student should fulfill the eligibility requirements for the scholarship scheme for which they are applying.
- The student should know their Kutumba ID; if they do not have one, they should apply for it.
- The student applying for SSP should have their Aadhar seeded with a mobile number bank account as the scholarship is a Direct Benefit Transfer.

- Income certificate.
- Caste certificate.

- Address: District, Taluk, and assembly constituency.
- SSLC registration number of the student(post-matric).

SSP Scholarship 2024-25 Status
Visit the official website: Open your browser and go to the official SSP Scholarship website at scholarship.up.gov.in.
Select the ‘Status’ option: On the homepage, find and click on the ‘Status’ tab, then select ‘Application Status’ from the dropdown menu.
Enter required details: A new page will appear. Fill in the necessary information, such as your registration number and date of birth, and then click on the ‘Search’ button.
View your application status: Your SSP Scholarship application status will be displayed on the screen
Conclusion
The Karnataka government offers a wide variety of scholarships to students. More than seven departments of the state government are involved in the State Scholarship Portal’s scheme. The portal announces these schemes on a regular basis, and the post-matric scholarship scheme from one of the departments has recently concluded. Currently, the State Hostel Portal is inviting applications from tribal students for hostel allocation. This application is available till September 30, 2024.
