SSC Stenographer 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who intend to apply for this recruitment must ensure they qualify by passing the eligibility criteria the commission specified.
Nationality
The candidate set to apply for the stenographer vacancies must be an Indian or a subject from Nepal or Bhutan. A migrant from the countries specified in the official notification is also eligible for this recruitment. The candidates who are not Indian must submit the eligibility certificate issued by the Government.
Age Limit and Relaxations (as of 1st August 2024)
The lower age limit for a candidate applying for Grade ‘C’ of the stenographer posts is 18 years, and the upper limit is 30 years.
The lower age limit for a candidate applying for Grade ‘D’ of the stenographer posts is 18 years, and the upper limit is 27 years.
The upper age limit can be extended up to 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwD (unreserved), 13 years for PwD (OBC), 15 years for PwD(SC/ST), 3 years for Ex-Servicemen, 3 years for defense person disabled in war, and 8 years for defense person disabled in war who are SC/St.

Steps to apply for SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024
The application for this recruitment must be submitted online only. The candidates who have not registered on the official site need to generate their one-time registration first. The OTR, once generated, will be valid for all the examinations held by the commission.

SSC Stenographer 2024 Exam Pattern
The commission will hold the examination for this recruitment in two phases, the computer-based test and then the skills test.
Computer-Based Test
The computer-based examination will test the knowledge of the candidates in three subjects.
General Intelligence and Reasoning will have questions in both verbal and non-verbal styles. This test is designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and arithmetical computation. The questions will be problem-solving.
