RRB NTPC 2024: Exam Overview
RRB NTPC exam for the year 2024 is soon going to be initiated. The undergraduate level includes Goods Train Manager, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, and Station Master.
The RRB NTPC recruitment process is multi-staged and includes two Computer-Based Tests (CBT), a skill test, document verification, and a medical examination. To appear for the exam, a candidate must have either passed 12th or must be a graduate from a recognized institution, according to the post.

RRB NTPC 2024 Important Dates
The exam date for the RRB NTPC 2024 has not been declared yet; however, the online application procedure for the same has been initiated already.
For graduate-level posts
- Application Start: September 14, 2024
- Application End: October 20, 2024.
For undergraduate-level post
- Application Start: September 21, 2024
- Application End:October 27, 2024.
Once the dates of the examination are announced, applicants will be able to see that there will be multiple phases for Computer-Based Tests (CBT). The final notice will carry all the information including exam dates, admit card dates, and other necessary information.
RRB NTPC 2024 Vacancy Details
The total number of vacancies under the RRB NTPC 2024 recruitment is 11,558. Vacancies are dispersed throughout the various zones of Indian Railways and some regions have dispensed the maximum number of offers, such as the case of RRB Kolkata and RRB Mumbai, to name a few.
Application Fee for RRB NTPC 2024
Candidates belonging to General and OBC categories have to pay an application fee of ₹500, while the SC/ST/PWD/Ex-Servicemen/Transgender/Economically Backward classes are exempted with a payment of ₹250. Such candidates will get back their fees for the first stage of the CBT.
RRB NTPC 2024 Selection Procedure
The selection procedure for RRB NTPC 2024 has different stages:
- CBT 1: This first CBT will focus on the General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence & Reasoning of the candidates.
- CBT 2: Only who carried CBT 1 can sit.
- Skill Test: Depending upon the post, a typing skill test or Computer-Based Aptitude Test may be conducted.
- Document Verification: The selected candidates from the CBT and skill test will undergo document verification.
- Medical Examination: Finally, there is a medical examination to ensure the selected candidates are physically fit for the positions.
Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The first phase consists of 100 questions with General Awareness (40 questions), Mathematics (30 questions), and General Intelligence & Reasoning (30 questions). The second phase includes 120 questions with the same subjects but with higher difficulty. All questions will be one marked, and for wrong answers, there will be a negative marking of 1/3rd for each incorrect answer.

RRB NTPC Salary and Allowances
The remuneration for the RRB NTPC positions is different as per the grade. Posts at the graduate level like Goods Train Manager can have remuneration up to ₹35,400 (Level-6), whereas the starting remuneration for undergraduate posts such as Junior Clerk cum Typist is ₹19,900 (Level-2).
