RRB ALP Exam 2024
The RRB ALP Exam contains multiple sections of the exam that assess various skills and knowledge areas. Good Attempts and Difficulty Levels
Based on the feedback from the candidates who took the exam in the first shift, we consolidated information regarding good attempts for each section. In Mathematics, as candidates have indicated attempting between 13 to 15 questions out of 20, this particular section was thought to be moderate since it was calculative in nature. This report has been categorized into five groups. General Intelligence and Reasoning did relatively well, with candidates attempting about 20 to 22 out of 25 questions, categorized as easy to moderate. General Science followed suit in the same kind of difficulty level, where candidates were able to attempt about 13 to 15 out of 20 questions. Last but not least, in the category of General Awareness and Current Affairs, good attempts were between 5 and 7 out of 10 questions.
Detailed Breakdown of Questions
Understanding which subjects are being asked in each section can really give hints to future candidates. Under Mathematics, some major topics included profit and loss, simple interest, averages, time and work, and geometry. Candidates were able to solve these questions, but only if they had calculated it very carefully.
This section consisted of questions in the General Science section. Most questions were on pH values, books and authors, general concepts in chemistry, and sound-related questions. According to candidates, this section was considered straightforward and presented no great challenges.
Questions under the General Awareness section ranged from current affairs to historical references. The candidates were asked about World Toilet Day and ISRO achievements, among other things. The diversity of such questions is a signal that one needs to be updated with current affairs.
Insights from Reasoning Ability
The Reasoning Ability section tested various skills through different types of questions. Candidates were confronted with coding-decoding problems, number series problems, and syllogism exercises. Diversified question types made it possible to study critical thinking.
