1. Short Term Training

The Short Term Training is available to unemployed individuals and school/college dropouts. The training has NSQF alignment and technical, soft, digital, and financial literacy skills delivery up to the below-NSQF level to ensure maximum utilization for the participants at various educational levels.

In addition to core skills, this training places much emphasis on soft skills, which include communications, work ethics, and entrepreneurship. 2. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

  • Mobilization: Identifying candidates with previous learning.
  • Counseling and Pre-screening: Candidate identification and screening based on prior experience.
  • Orientation: The candidates are orientated to the skills required and the process of certification.
  • Final Assessment: The candidates are assessed for both practical and theoretical knowledge.
  • Certification and Payout: The successful candidates receive a certification along with financial support.
  • RPL is most crucial in formalizing the skills of the unregulated workforce and creating opportunities for marginalized and vulnerable sections of society.

3. Special Projects

Special Projects under PMKVY specifically target specific skills for excluded and vulnerable sections of society. Since sectors or geographies may require specific differential skills training, which cannot be designed as one-size-fits-all, these projects would include sectors or geographies. The terms and conditions of Special Projects can relax provisions more than the regular skill training package, to better meet the needs and convenience of the excluded and vulnerable sections.

4. Kaushal and Rozgar Mela

Kaushal and Rozgar Melas are organized by PMKVY under the scheme every six months. The certified trainees obtain an opportunity to interact with potential employers concerning possible placement and shall continue providing platforms for entrepreneurial support for the wannabe entrepreneurs.

PMKVY 3.0 – Features and Update

The new thrust of PMKVY 3.0 would be in new-age skills and COVID-related training to meet the rapidly changing demands of the global workforce.
