The National Testing Agency is going to close the application process for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2025 Session 1 next week, that is November 22, 2024. It is a much sought-after entrance examination in India as it gives entry to engineering courses offered by many institutions.
The registration process started on October 28, 2024, and applicants can make online applications from the official portal of JEE Main, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Applications can be submitted till 9 PM on the last day, but transactions of fee can be done up to 11:50 PM of November 22, 2024. So far, about 5.1 lakh applicants have registered, in which the number of applicants has remarkably declined compared to previous years.
Problems Faced by the Students during registration
Multiple reasons made the process slower this time around:
Troubles related to Aadhaar Verification: Most students have encountered Aadhaar verification problems because their personal details had logged discrepancies. In a bid to eradicate the situation, NTA has revised its registration procedure by intimating candidates to cross-check the details with their Aadhaar entries.
Names Mismatch: Those having different names in the Aadhaar and Class 10 certificates face hurdles in registration. The names should match on each of their documents to avoid some hassle.
OBC-NCL Certificate Students who are applying for admission through the category of OBC-NCL face problems regarding the validity of certificates. The certificates of NTA are supposed to be issued after the date of the candidate’s birth and hence motivate the students to produce new certificates before completion of the registration process.
Given this, many students have sought relief at the NTA end through welfare in regard to registration procedures, including the option of submitting a declaration form for ease in the procedure of applying.
