The NDA examination is the most sought-after examination undertaken by those who wish to join the Indian Armed Forces. NDA 1 Exam Date 2025
- NDA 1 2025 Exam – April 13, 2025.
- NDA 1 Application Start Date: December 20, 2024.

NDA 2 Exam Date 2025
- NDA 2 2025 Exam – 14th September 2025.
- NDA 2 Application Start Date: 28 May 2025.
- NDA 2 Application End Date:17 June 2025.
These exams fall under the examination process for aspiring cadets into the National Defence Academy as well as the Indian Naval Academy. In fact, this examination result leads further to the training of the very cadets who are later inducted into the armed forces.

NDA 2025: Application Form
The application procedure for NDA 2025 is entirely online, and students need to follow the following steps:
Steps to Apply:
- Registration: Candidates are required to fill up Part I and Part II of the application form online on the UPSC website.
- Fee Paying: The application fee is Rs 100.
- SC, ST female candidates: Zero fees
- JCOs, NCOs, and ORs sons: Zero fees.
- Scanned photographs, signatures, and other documents are to be uploaded on the official website as specified by the department. It is essential to fill up all the details so that it does not create any trouble during submission.
NDA Exam Pattern 2025
This NDA exam consists of two papers: one is Mathematics and the other General Ability Test (GAT).
Mathematics Paper: The Mathematics part is the first part of the NDA exam which carries 300 marks. It comprises such areas as Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Probability, among many others, considering them important for selection.
General Ability Test: The General Ability Test has the mark of 600 in the second part. These evaluate areas such as Current Affairs and General Knowledge pertaining to one’s knowledge and skill in English. A candidate undergoes GAT, considering one’s ability toward constructive, critical thinking and application of the overall, general knowledge to real-life practice or experiences.
A candidate has to do well in both parts to proceed in the selection process.
NDA SSB Interview and Selection Process
Once a candidate qualifies for the written examination, he/she is called for an SSB interview. It is the overall test including psychological and physical tests with group discussions and interviews. The interview carries much weight in the final selection.
The SSB interview assesses leadership potential, decision-making, and physical endurance. Finally selected after the interview on cumulative performance in the written test and the interview.
Selecting Women Candidates
For the first time in NDA’s history, women candidates will be eligible to sit for the NDA exam. This move has, for the first time, opened new ways for women to serve within the Indian Armed Forces. Like males, women candidates too must meet the eligibility criteria to apply for the NDA 2025 exam.
This is an extremely important landmark in the annals of gender equity within the Indian Armed Forces and opens avenues for women to participate in national defense.
