Candidates pursuing their Master’s Degree or awaiting results can apply provisionally.
Subject of Examination
Candidates must appear in their relevant post-graduation subject. If not listed, they should consider UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET.
Ph.D. Holders
Ph.D. degree holders with Master’s level completion by 19th September 1991 are eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%).
State-specific Eligibility
– Other state candidates must meet 55% for ‘GENERAL (UR)’ category. – SC/ST/OBC criteria apply only to Karnataka SC/ST/OBC candidates.
Previous KSET Eligibility
Candidates eligible in previous KSETs cannot apply again in the same subject. Reapplication in the same subject will lead to cancellation of candidature.
Degree Equivalence
Candidates with diplomas or degrees from Indian or foreign institutions should verify equivalence with Master’s degree through the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
Purpose of KSET
KSET is the minimum eligibility for recruitment and appointment as Assistant Professors in Karnataka State.
Age Limit
No age limitations for participating in the KSET 2024 exam.

KSET Exam Pattern 2024
The exam has two papers. The papers will be held on November 24, 2024. The exam will start at 10 am, and the second paper will immediately follow the first. Candidates have to stay in the exam hall till 1 pm. No break is available between the two papers.
Paper 1 will have 50 questions. Each question is compulsory. Two marks are for each correct answer. There is no negative marking. Paper 1 will have general questions about general reasoning, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.
Paper II has 100 questions. All questions will be objective. These questions are based on the exam subject chosen. No negative marking.
Note: Both papers will happen in the same exam session, and candidates should stay in the exam hall after Paper I.

Candidates must choose Paper II of the KSET Exam according to their subject at the Master’s level. There are forty-one subject options for Paper II. KSET 2024 Selection Procedure
The general candidates need a 40% aggregate score. Scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and other reserved classes must score a minimum of 35% aggregate to qualify. The Karnataka Exam Authority will then prepare a merit list of all students who qualify for KSET 2024. It has to follow the University Grants Commission rules while preparing this list. It uses specific conditions and formulas to prepare the merit list. Only 6% of candidates who appear for Paper 1+2 can qualify for this exam.
KSET Admit Card 2024
The admit card is awaited. Candidates must download and print out the admit card when available. The exam is on November 24, 2024, so the admit card will be out atleast a week or fifteen days before that. Candidates should regularly visit the KEA website for updates.
