Directorate General Electronics and Mechanical Engineers has officially announced the recruitment of over 625 posts in Indian Army Engineering. These vacancies are on various posts like Fitter, Electrician, Pharmacist, Fireman, Tradesman Mate, and Lower Division Clerk. DG EME Recruitment 2024: Application Form
The application form that the candidates will have to fill out to apply for the recruitment process is released along with the notification. The application window will close within 21 days of the announcement of the recruitment. Interested candidates will have to submit the application form at the designated address by the 21st of January. Following is the set of a few steps that the candidates can follow to apply for the recruitment.
- Step 1: The candidates will have to download the application form from the notification and print out a hard copy.
- Step 2: Fill out the form accurately and attach the copies of the documents required for application. The documents required include Educational certificates, age proof, and caste certificate.
- Step 3: The candidates also need to include a self-addressed envelope (10.5 cm x 25 cm) along with a postal stamp of ₹5.
- Step 4: Send the application to the address designated.
DG EME Recruitment 2024: Age Limit
The lower age limit for the recruitment of posts announced vacant is 18 while the upper is 25 years. The only post in which the upper limit reaches up to 30 years is the post of Fire Engine Driver. The age relaxation for candidates who belong to the SC/ST category is 5 years. Age relaxation for candidates who belong to the OBC category is 3 years. The age relaxation for candidates who belong to the PwD category is 10 years expandable up to 15 for SC/ST and 13 for OBC. Age relaxation for candidates who belong to the Ex-servicemen category is up to the service period. However, the total age should not exceed the limit prescribed by more than 3 years. The age relaxation for departmental candidates is 40 years expandable up to 45 for SC/ST.
DG EME Recruitment 2024: Educational Qualification
The following are the educational qualifications required for recruitment to various posts announced vacant.
- Pharmacist: The candidates must have passed 10+2 and have a diploma in Pharmacy along with a registration in the State Pharmacy Council.
- Electrician (Highly Skilled-II): The candidates must have passed 10+2 and have an ITI certificate or Armed Forces Personnel in trades related.
- Telecom Mechanic (Highly Skilled-II): The candidates must have passed 10+2 and have an ITI in the motor mechanic trade or have done a BSc with PCM.
- Lower Division Clerk: The candidates must have passed 12th as well as have a typing speed of 30 wpm in Hindi or 35 wpm in English.
- Fireman: The candidates must have passed 10th and have basic knowledge of extinguisher maintenance along with basic firefighting skills.
- Vehicle Mechanic (Skilled): The candidates must have an ITI in the motor mechanic trade or experience in the Armed Forces in the relevant field.
DG EME 2024: Selection Process
The selection process for the recruitment drive is divided into 6 phases. The first phase of the process is the shortlisting of applications in which the applications are reviewed. Those who pass the criteria will then receive the call letter for the written examination. The examination will test the knowledge of the candidates in various subjects relevant to the jobs they have applied for. Those who pass the written examination will then have to appear for the skill tests. After the skill tests, the shortlisted candidates will appear for the physical standards test. Those documents of the candidates who pass all the tests will undergo document verification. The last and final phase of the selection process after the document verification is the medical test. This test will ensure the candidate’s medical fitness for the job.
DG EME Recruitment 2024: Exam Pattern
The question paper for the written examination will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions carrying one mark each. Every incorrect answer will be deducted .25 from the candidate’s total. The candidates will have 2 hours to answer the questions and will have both English and Hindi as the mode of questioning. Out of the 150 questions, 25 will be from General Intelligence and Reasoning and 25 from General Awareness. Out of the remaining questions, 25 will be from General English, 25 from Numerical Aptitude, and 25 from Trade-Specific Knowledge.

- Vehicle Mechanic: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100
- Tradesman Mate: ₹18,000 – ₹56,900
