2025 Social Security Check Payments Dates (USA)

- Second Wednesday of Every Month
Recipients whose date of birth comes between the 1st and 10th of every month shall receive their payments on the second Wednesday of every month.
- Third Wednesday of Every Month
For recipients whose birth dates fall between the 11th and 20th of every month, the payment shall be credited on the third Wednesday of every month.
- Fourth Wednesday of Every Month
Recipients whose birth dates fall between the 21st to 31st of every month shall receive their payments on the fourth Wednesday of every month.
Furthermore, for recipients who have been receiving their Social Security benefits before May 1997, or those who are eligible for both Social Security benefits as well as Supplemental Security Income (SSI), the payment shall be credited on the 3rd of every month. Payment Amounts for 2025
The Social Security Administration (SSA) initiates the payments based on the Cost-of-Living Adjustment, also known as COLA. This is determined by the changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI). For the coming year 2025, SSA has declared a 2.5% COLA adjustment. This indicates a $50 increase for all recipients.
When it comes to retirees, the monthly payment benefits can increase from $1927 to $1976. Along with this, the amount has increased for aged couples too, from $3014 to $3089. Meanwhile, for widowed mothers with two children, the payment shall increase from $3669 to $3761. Also, for elderly widows, the payment benefit shall increase from $1788 to $1832. For Disabled workers with spouses or dependent children, the amount shall increase from $2757 to $2856. Finally, for all disabled workers, the payment amount shall increase from $1542 to $1580.

How to Handle Missed Payments
There may be instances of delayed or missed payments, although the SSA ensures that regular income is generated according to the calendar. However, in cases where the payment is delayed or missed, citizens can go through several guidelines to reimburse their payments without hassle.
Firstly, recipients must verify if the payment has been deposited by checking in with the bank statements. It is inherent that they are aware of their bank accounts functioning and being active. In case the payment is not reflected on the same day, recipients are advised to wait for three business days, in order to skip past any payment processing. However, if the payment is not reflected after three business days, recipients are advised to report it to the SSA. They can do so by contacting the helpline number 1-800-772-1213 during business hours. This is available from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 7 PM. For individuals with hearing disabilities, the helpline number available is 1-800-325-0778. After contacting the SSA, recipients can report the delayed or missing payments, including all details. Relevant details such as name, contact number, month of payment as well as dates and time of contact shall help solve the mentioned issues.
After the missing or stolen report has been registered with the SSA, the concerned authorities may reissue the check for the assigned month. For this, certain details shall be required from the recipient’s end. These include the name and address on the Social Security payment check, the recipient’s claim number, and the Social Security payment month.
